Historical Information About the Camp

Berkshire Boys Camp has meant many different things to every person whose life it has touched.  Certainly not perfect for each individual, but a positive influence in the growth and development for thousands of boys and men during its 35 years of existence.

From the very humble beginnings of the first cabin (1939) and the four shelter cabins (1941), to the ambitious final project of a new Dining Hall (1973), the camp experienced continual change and growth.  New activities were added to the broad spectrum offered to the campers.  New cabins were built.  But the spirit of the camp endured and is captured in the Pop Welch Educational Foundations' motto "Learning thru' Adventure, in the School of the Outdoors."
