Historical Picture Archive

BBC Home Page

There are many projects that various BBC alumni are undertaking. We could use your help.

BBC News Project

We are trying to collect in an archive, one of each of the BBC Newsletters that were published.

This will create a lasting record of history of the camp through the eyes of the campers. They contain details of the development of the camp as well as a window into the insights and progressive thinking of "Pop" Welch. Our plan is to scan them onto a computer and then offer a CD to Alumni.

These are the issues that appear to be missing: #1 through #5 from 1949, #14, #17, #18 from 1950, #20, #21, and #22 from 1951, 7/28/54, 7/16/56. 1960: 6/29, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 8/3, 8/10/ and 8/17, 1963: 7/10, 7/17, 7/31 and 8/7, 1964: 7/7, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29 and 8/5, 1969: 7/8, 7/22, 8/12, 8/19 and 8/26, 1971: 7/21 and 8/25.

If you have any of the ones we are missing, we need them. Please send them to Aaron Clevenson:

BBC Cookbook Project

We are trying to put together a recipe book of all the recipes from our camp days. (I am not sure I want to see the recipe for Bug Juice...)

If you have one, send it in. Eric Lesselbaum is heading up this project:

BBC History Project

In an effort that was started 30 years ago, we are trying to capture as much of the history of BBC as possible.

We will make this information available on-line on this web site. Specific information that we are trying to collect includes: Lists of campers, lists of staff, pictures of all of the cabins, pictures of various activities, data on the opening of various buildings at camp, information on the various activity programs, records of BBC awards given, etc. Our goal is to scan all of the pictures we can find onto a computer and provide a CD of them to Alumni.

If you have any kind of contribution, please send it to Aaron Clevenson at:

The Foundation Project

BBC was a place where boys could learn to become men. BBC was a refuge from the day-to-day grind of the world, a place where we could all receive an Education Through Adventure in the School of the Outdoors!

At this time, the camp property is intact and unused. We have a dream of securing the property and activating a Foundation.

If you want more information, contact Rob Lennick at:

BBC Songbook Project

We want to collect the words and music to the songs we all remember from camp.

This would include the songs from the Mess Hall, songs from campfires. and even those little ditties that the boys in Drama came up with. If you have some favorites, we need to get them in the book. Ideally we need lyrics, melody, and guitar chords.

Send what you have to Eric Lesselbaum at:
